This presents the Open-PEOPLE project that intends to provide a platform dedicated to power and energy measurement, estimation and optimization of complete embedded systems. Such systems include complex hardware (FPGA, DSP, GPP, SoC, MPSoC, Memory. . . ), an operating system (real time or not) and embedded applications. The project is open to the designers and developpers community through a software platform made of a web portal and power/energy estimation tools based on power consumption model. The web portal is also coupled to a hardware platform dedicated to power measurements on real boards to enrich the power consumption models. Objectives of this project include the development of methods to perform a power consumption characterisation of complete embedded systems, a set of tools to analyse and optimize power consumption working at different level of abstraction during the design process.
