The demonstrator runs on an ML310 board from Xilinx. Images are loaded from the connected hard drive into the main memory (DDR SDRAM) which is located on the board. From there the pixel data can be accessed by a hardware coprocessor called TaillightEngine which is able to detect cars in dark environments. The processed pixels are written back into the main memory from where they can be accessed and be displayed on an external monitor.
